Red river hog piglets wonder what Valentine's Day has in store for them!

Every year at the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, our critters get excited about Valentine’s Day. They know that during the month of February, animal lovers around the world show just how much they care by picking out toys and treats from the Animal Care Wish List.

The Animal Care Wish List is an online shopping list formed of items urgently needed to keep our critters happy and healthy. The Wish List also supports our global wildlife conservation efforts. Items available for purchase start at only $8 and enrich the lives of our animals at the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park.

This month, we have so many romantic items our animals can’t wait to cuddle up to! Samson, our hyacinth macaw, is going to have his wings full this Valentine’s Day with his two girlfriends, green-winged macaws Abby and Ruby. That’s why we’re offering you a chance to help him with date night. Or you could help our black rhinos say “I doo love you” and show our tiniest baby birds a touch of motherly love.

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and our critters great and small have spent months dreaming of heart-shaped kabobs, Colobus monkey chocolates, valentine bones, equine love toys, and gerenuk privacy shades. Won’t you spread the love, too, by sending our critters a valentine?
