I am excited to go to the next plant day at the zoo. My friend went to it last year and had a great time, he said that it was the best time he had at a zoo! I am excited to go!

I am working on a book on chocolate and was wondering if you have a theobroma cacao tree or trees in your greenhous,e and if so are there any cacao pods on the tree?

Mychael responds: Martha, we do have Theobroma cacao in our greenhouse. We haven't had much luck getting pods to form. We had small pods a couple of years ago but don't have any this year. Good luck with your book.

Mychael, it's always a pleasure to read your blogs and, even better to chance upon you at the zoo and talk with you. I have yet, sadly to say, to take the botanical bus tour, since I'm usually at the zoo early and leave around noon. I have high hopes, still, of doing it, and hopefully on June 20th. Each time I visit the zoo I'm more and more impressed with the flora, and feel absolutely awed by the wealth and variety of plant life. There's still so much to learn!! Thank you so much for your blogs.
