Vet Hospital has a Wish

Our amazing hospital staff at the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park works day and night to help our critters stay healthy and happy. From routine procedures like a physical exam for one of our hummingbirds to highly involved, specialized urgent care cases such as surgery to fix a tiger’s broken leg, our vets are always there. Today they are working to help a newborn lesser kudu born with some urological issues that require surgery. Be sure to send good thoughts to the little one and our vet staff.
To thank our wonderful hospital staff for everything they do, I asked them if there was anything that they needed. After some thought, they put together a wish list of some small items they need that could have a big impact on the care they provide to our critters each and every day. You can check out our vet hospital Wish List here…

Kudos and many thanks to the wonderful vet staff. You have had a tough year in the lion territory, but some exciting news in other areas like Kinah. Due to your dedication and tremendous technical skills, the animals in your care are blessed with the very best Veterinary care possible for animals confined to captive zoo and research facility environments. You do your very best and it shows!
It is always exciting and extremely educational to read/hear about the assistance you have provided for some helpless life, large or small, newborn or geriatric.
Best wishes to the baby Lesser Kudu. It is in great hands, and hopefully will heal up quickly and lead a normal life thanks to your extraordinary care.
Have a Wonder-full Day!
