I cannot get enough orangutan stories. I laugh out loud while reading them. They are truly amazing animals. I just wish Janey would pen an autobiography. With a little help, I am sure she could.

Thanks, Kim, for the update on Janey. She sounds like quite a girl. As I've read she is the most " friendly" and intelligent of the orangutans. She keeps you all busy keeping her mind engaged. The most intriquing thing I read was how she uses the faucet to fill a container with water, mixes up the contents, then drinks deeply before she gets down to the business of painting. She has had a long life surrounded by people who care deeply about her. In 45 years beings can build a tremendous bond. How has she reacted over the decades as keepers and conditions at the zoo have changed? It must have been very enriching for her each time the exhibit was improved.
