I sobbed when I read about Koza. Watching the pandas gives me comfort. Their sweet faces bring a smile thru the tears.

I am so sorry to hear of Koza's death. I had been following his story and his friendship with the puppy, and this is just devastating. Does anyone know why the lioness would attack a cub? My deepest condolences and prayers to all at the SDZ in this sad, sad time....

Hi Cathy G... i am happy to read your post, but am broken-hearted by the news of the lion cub. What a brave little boy he was. My heart goes out to his keepers & friends.

As for you, Cathy G, how exciting that the day is getting closer to hold a Panda Cub! I'm looking forward to more news and Pictures!

The story on Koza was almost unbearable for me to read. I can't begin to imagine what the ordeal must have been like for the Park staff who loved and nurtured him. You go to such extraordinary lengths to preserve life. I'm only glad people who adored him were there to ease his suffering. My condolences on your terrible loss.

Thanks for taking the time to write these updates during your trip, Cathy G.! I look forward to reading them. Hopefully, you will be able to post some of your pics, too. I wish you and all of your travel companions a panda-riffic adventure! And please give extra hugs and kisses to Hua Mei, my favorite panda (her birth was the spark that ignited my panda passion).

On a more solemn note, after reading about the untimely and heart-wrenching death of Koza, I became concerned about Su Lin and any aggressive behavior that she may encounter from Gao Gao or Mei Sheng. I can't imagine our handsome boys being anything but sweet and lovable, but if Su Lin was ever in close contact with either Gao Gao or Mei Sheng or if she was within their view, is it possible that they would see her as a threat and react accordingly?

My sincere thanks and condolences to all of the staff at SDZ and WAP,
Tracey

Does anyone have news of Lun Lun at the Atlanta Zoo who was recently A-I'd.
The panda cam for Atlanta is not often on and when it is, and there is a panda,
there is no way of telling which one it is.

Jealous, jealous, jealous... that does it! I'm skipping my daily Starbucks run and saving my pennies to go on the next trip. Save me a seat and keep the updates coming - they are fabulous!
