Comment moderation

All comments sent to our blog posts are moderated, which means your comment may not appear right away. Comments are moderated Monday through Friday during regular work hours; they are checked less frequently on weekends and holidays.

Comments that are off-topic may not be approved, and any comment promoting a commercial product or another website will not be approved. We reserve the right to edit your comment before posting if it contains material not pertinent to the blog topic. We recognize our role as wildlife educators and will not allow posts that are wildly inaccurate.

We do allow comments that provide links to social media sites, such as YouTube or Facebook, but we do not allow links to blog sites or websites not affiliated with San Diego Zoo Global.

Do not submit copyrighted or other proprietary material in any form unless you clearly indicate that you have permission to do so. This includes text from other websites and blogs, even if you state where you got the information. Your comments should be your own!
