Can you believe Yun Zi is almost 3?!
Throughout the weekend, both Yun Zi and Gao Gao will get special enrichment presents and treats so they both can celebrate Yun Zi’s birthday and the birth of a new sibling. We did get all the funding for Yun Zi’s present: an artificial climbing and shade tree. We are now just waiting until his new brother or sister is a little older before the construction on the tree gets started.

Thanks for the heads up Jen. We knew the tree was on hold because of the noise factor regarding Bai so I’m sure Yun Zi understands it too. He will get it as soon as possible. Maybe an early Christmas present.
Happy Birthday Yunior. You are a big boy now and you’ve got a new baby sister or brother. Mom may be a bit busy right now but there will be plenty of us around to wish you the best now you are 3 yrs old.

The SDZ dieticians always make the best and most beautiful ice cakes for the pandas. This year’s cake is especially beautiful; I’m sure the inspiration of a new cub was an added incentive to make this Yunni’s best bearday cake ever. After all, Yun Zi needs extra attention and love so he doesn’t feel overshadowed by his new sibling.

What a lovely cake today — I actually opened the cam as Yun Zi was enjoying it. Beautiful to look at and judging from Yun Zi’s attention to it, lovely to eat! Happy birthday, birthday boy, and thank you keepers and creators of such a beautiful treat.

A totally unconfirmed rumor has it that the ice cake for this weekend is going to be so huge that the zoo has asked Yunior’s cuzzins, Sooperpanna & X-man, to fly a Skycrane helicopter to carry and lower the ice cake into Yunior’s enclosure. So if you hear a helicopter this weekend it’s not the paparazzi trying to get exclusive photos of the new cubbie; it’s two pandas helping their cuzzin celebrate in style!
That would be so great. Bruce I hope you can get some “exclusive” photos of Sooperpanna, X-Man and Yun Zi.
Dear Seiko lt is time to bring on the girlies. I am a panda-man now. I sure hope my cousins get to HELO my cake to me–there shoud be enough for everybody to share–helping me to have a great time. The less fortunate Pandas I will try to send some extra since it is made of such healthy panda foods. Now all I have to do is get ready for that wonderful party, I can dress in no time————oooopppppsssss–I hear the helo now-time for me to get ready to have a beach search for us to cruise the girlies, show off our wresteling skills. Then on to our surf boards to make an important impression on the girlies. Wewill be a hard trio to beat today.

Yes, Lj, thank you for reminding me. Today, Su Lin turned 7 years old. I would like to add my Happy Birthday greetings and wish her many more. Tomorrow, Zhen Zhen will be 5 years old. I wish her a very Happy Birthday too. Time really flies. Our two little girls are all grown up.:-) I also miss them.
