Last night, a little after 9, Bai Yun made her first den departure. She stepped out briefly to get a drink of water. Although female pandas generally fast for several days after the birth of their cub, it’s not unusual for them to need a drink of water a day or two postpartum.
We are happy to see that Bai Yun is looking after her own needs; it will be critical to her success in rearing this cub past the first few crucial days of life. Bai Yun is no newbie to the process of cub rearing, and with her most recent cubs she showed us how she has been able to walk the line between providing excellent care to herself while maintaining excellent care of her cub.
Although Bai Yun was out of the den for only about a minute, her absence from the den afforded us the first good look at her youngster. What we saw is very encouraging. The cub was extremely vocal, registering its complaint over Mother’s absence. To us, that indicates good vigor and a proper behavioral response to the cool air and loss of contact with Mom. The cub was wiggling all over the floor, indicating good strength and energy. And the cub had a nice, round belly, indicating that Bai Yun is providing plenty of milk.
Perfect.
We are not out of the woods yet, but thus far everything looks great in the den.

Good Mama! What a precious little joy. I am thoroughly enjoying watching the cam…..esp at work.
Nancy
I was watching as well when Bai Yun left the nest and was estatic seeing the panda cub. The cub clearly was not happy that mom was gone by the movement
. Glad things are going well thus far and again congrats SDZ!
Oh wow! I am so sorry I missed that – I stopped watching the cam just a little before she went to have a drink!
Will there be a baby shower this year like you had when Yun Zi was born?
Moderator’s note: Good question, but it’s too early to say yet.
Wonderful blog, video and photos. We are overwhelmed with excitement.
What a great Mom. Thank you for the wonderful video. You are right, what a round little tummy.
I noticed Bai has been breathing pretty heavily. Is that normal?
Yes. Sometimes she increases her respiration rate and tucks her nose down over the cub. We think this helps to warm the newborn.
All sign looking good…..great job, SDZ!! You are truly the BEST!! Mama Bai has proven herself over and over that she knows what to do, and when, so hopefully we are headed in the right direction. This is soooo exciting and fun!!
Thank you so much for the update and the photos and video!! The cubbie looks just as feisty as Yun Zi did when we first saw him during those first few days!
I am just in awe of Bai Yun, watching her sit or lay in the same position – not all which look comfortable and then to have to constantly reposition to tend to her cubs needs when he/she is fussing…wow! She is truly a wonderful bear
So happy to hear all the good news! Mama Bai knows just what to do; afterall she is a truly a hero mother!!
Big belly=happy cubby!
Oh my! Bai Yun went out just now for a short time and cubbie was so active – it can really move fast and all over! It sure is an energetic little one! Can’t wait to see him/her grow up. This is such a blessing!!
2:14PM Pacific time!!! I got to see the baby!!! Extraordinary!!!! Fat Belly is right! Very Busy is Right! Momma Bai came back inside the den and cuddled! Timing is everything
Thank You SDZ for the Den Cam!!!
Bpobbie~I have only gotten to see the baby on the video of what you saw-how wonderdful it must have been seeing it live…Love grammmie
Keep Checking, Grammmie
I checked in after awakening from my afternoon siesta with my little dog Max and completely startled him by shouting, “It’s the Baby! Can you see it?”
Just watched Bai Yun leave again and got a very good view of the baby…. the little one is very active and I am sure was screaming his/her little lungs out.
A very big thank you to all the keepers and researches that have been writing the blogs the last several days and keeping us panda aunties up to date.
And a big thank you to the Zoo that allows us to see all this action real time… ahh technology!!
I know that Gao and Yunior haven’t a clue about the new cub, but I wonder if they sense a slight change in the day-to-day routine around the Giant Panda Research Station? When I was there in December, Yunior did not miss any movement made by the keepers in the general vicinity of his enclosure. After all, keepers are the source of all things fun, wonderful, and yummy to pandas!
Bruce
Perhaps Yunior is more aware because of his Space Shuttle training with you. Remember he promised to take care of this baby as much as he can so that he is ready to be a hands Papa when the time comes for him. This should be the best time to cub raise on Bai Yun’s part……she will have time to have the other panda ladies over for spa days-when she is bikini ready.
Thank you so much for the update. We’ve all been sitting here hoping for news. I just saw Bai leave, and man, the baby was not happy. He/she squirmed all over the den! Thank you again.
Thank you so very much for letting us share the den cam!
How long will Bai Yun stay in the den?
Moderator’s note: She may leave in a day or two to get some food, but she’ll come back quickly to tend to her cub.
I’m already planning my schedule so I can get off of work around the 100th day, because I’ve never had a chance to make it down for a naming ceremony! So excited for this new cub, I wish it the best of luck these next crucial months!!
Kevin I sincerely hope you can make it to the naming cerimony. I am a local resident but will not be able to make it-so shout twice as loud so no one knows I am not there.
Since Yun Zi (Son of Cloud) was named to honor his mothr (White
Cloud), perhaps they can find a way to honor his Sweet Daddy Gao
Gao this time since this may be his last cub too!!!! If Bai and Gao get to retire togther, and she decides not to have any more babies-then Goa will not have aymoire anyway. It gives us food for thought.
Exciting news, thank you Suzanne!! I am so amazed at Bai Yun, she is a good mom to her cub!!
Thanks so much for the video Suzanne. It was an absolute joy and relief to see how energetic and healthy the wee one is. I suppose we should have had no doubts that Momma Bai Yun could still do everything just as you said…perfectly!
How precious is that. I am amazed at how small the cub is, and how gentle mama is. Totally AMAZING . Hope we have just as good results for our polar bears.
Thanks so much for this nice update with photos and video too! It’s such a joy to see the cubbie and to watch how tenderly Bai Yun cares for it. It is so tiny and helpless — no wonder mama has to hold it so closely and carefully and be sure she does not wander off too far or too long. Poor little thing — you can just feel its discomfort when Bai leaves.
I appreciated your comments on the fine line Bai has to walk to make sure her needs and the cub’s needs are properly balanced. And boy, does she do a great balancing act! What a super mama bear!!!
Deborah (No Calif) I tried some late night/early morning watching the den cam when Yun Zi was a tiny character. Just like all cubs, as soon as mama left he started hollering–or if he had been asleep when she rose he would start yelling as soon as he knew he was alone. One middle of the night session she apparrently was sleeping elswhere—–I watched and heard him sceaming for 1-1/2 to 2 hours. There is always paybak—a few weeks later (night time) he was mesing around close to the door, and fell out into her bedroom. She came back ready to nurse him—-but he was gone. There was a terrible look of panic on her little face, and being careful not to hurt him she search the den, then started on the other rooms. She found him, carried him back to the den, and spent a lot of time laying aross the door way after that.
What a wonderful sight-a new baby panda! Thank you so much for sharing. My first love was Mei Sheng and I still search flicker when I miss him. Many prayers and blessings are wished for this newest cub, Mama and the staff. I see the site has changed so I must learn how to use it…any instructions? Blessings to all! Claudia
Moderator’s note: Yes, we changed over to an HD camera. If you can view it, then all you need to do is sit back and enjoy!
What reaction was thre from Yun Zi’s older brother and sistrs. Are Mei Sheng and Yun Zi secretly hoping for another brother so the split will be 3 girls and 3 boys? I wonder how Bai feels about that……….
Wonderful picture of the newest cub and that little cubbie was not happy when momma left. Bai Yun is such a loving sweet momma. Hope she is doing okay, Pat
It appears that panda moms aren’t that different from human moms. The first baby we sterilize EVERYTHING and are worried that we are taking good care of our baby.
By the time the 2nd or 3rd one comes we are more relaxed and comfortable. This being #6 of Bai she has it down pat.
Great momma.
So excited to see the little cublet and how energetic it is! Bai is such a phenomenal mom, and attends to both her needs and the baby’s needs. Loved having the video to see the baby wiggling about and looking forward to more video and pictures of the wee one.
Congratulations to everyone, especially Mom and baby. With all the horror being reported in the world, this is the best news. What a joy to be able to behold such love, beauty and innocence at a time when our hearts need to be filled with joy instead of breaking…
So true, Karen… so true! Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Thank you SO MUCH for the view of the cute cub! So exciting! Yeah!
It’s amazing to think with those large paws how gentle and easiiy she can handle such a small bundle of joy. Continued good thoughts for the cubs early days and into the future..
Thank you Suzanne for taking time out of your busy schedule to write this update.
I enjoyed the video very much. I have never seen a newborn cub so active. Feisty is the correct word to describe this little one. I was happy to see Bai leave the den for a minute to get a drink of water. I am sure that this short break is beneficial to Bai’s health. Bai is absolutely the best panda Mom. I wish Bai Yun and her sweet little cub all the best.
what a chubby little one; Bai Yun is such a good gentle mother, she’s so big and it’s so small and her touch is like a feather. Way to go Momma, we’re all very proud of you.
How’s Yun Zi and Gao Gao doing?
My son loves Pandas. He turned 3 on the 29th of July, the same day the new Panda was born!!! We watched the video and Gage (my son) says “Mommy I love him”…..very neat thing to happen on his birthday
Moderator’s note: They are birthday buddies!
Wow – the video is amazing. Thank you so much for posting it – I’ve been getting withdrawal symptoms since the ‘World View San Diego Zoo cam’ went off line! I always check the Panda cam each day – sometimes several times. For now I will have to check on line. I wish the UK was closer to San Diego so I could visit. Best wishes to you all (including the animals).
can you put the video on your facebook page so I can share it with my friends.
more videos please, lots of them, never tire of watching Bai Yun with the little ones.
So wonderful to see that little cub wiggling around like that and Bai coming right back to settle in again cuddling the little one. It is even more important for Bai to care for herself now because she is so much older. If you didn’t know her age though you’d never guess it by the way she handles herself and that little cub. She is the same mother she has always been. Part of that has to be the knowledge that her keepers are out there making sure that she is protected and cared for. She doesn’t have to be worried about anything so she can devote her attention to that little one.
Peggy~~~since Bai Yun is 21 this year, does it mean we can alll bring Champange to the Zoo to toast her well. We know nursing mamas can’t drink it, but a few sips by her loving fans might be okay….right?????
Thank you Suzanne for the update of Bai Yun and her cub. I enjoyed seeing the video and the little one is so tiny and very active and not a happy camper when Bai left to get some water. Congratulations to all.
Does Yun Zi and Gao Gao hear the little one when Bai leaves the den for water?
When the babies yell and we hear it over our computer’s speaker systems, we wonder why half of the zoo mamas don’t all come running to check.
Thank you so much for taking the time to keep us posted on mama and the little cub!
Bai Yun is such a great mom. Thank you so much for all the great care of the pandas at the zoo. It has been so awesome to watch them all grow. Love your program. That is one of the reasons we are members of the zoo.
I was playing Solitaire in my computer the same time watching Bai Yun ..and boom she left the den to get drink some water. So I quickly grab my iphone and took pictures of my screen.lol omg! that was so cute! then posted in my Face Book for my friends to see.
This is all so exciting. Bai yun is such a wonderful panda mom, it seems to be such a natural gift with her. I have to say, I have had a horrible July, quite tragic and this acutally made me so happy! Yun Zi was my first cub and it was such a joy to watch him grow, and Zhennie was so amusing, I miss her. SDZ, you should be so proud, you guys are wonderful and I hope to get there from this east coast some day. I love how you keep us updated on your blogs, it is refreshing to see that you actually care about your contributors and followers. Congrats to you and especailly Bai and Gao Gao! What a great couple they are! I wish this little cubbie great health and happiness with his or her mommy!
yay, big belly on our beautiful girl (?) cubbie.
great job mama bai.
we began this wonderful panda journey with a beautiful hua mei baby girl, now lets finish with our final baby girl.

painted post, n.y.
The updates are very much appreciated. This is such a wonderful event to watch. And the HD camera is wonderful. Loving every minute of it!
The most precious creation on earth in my book! The little one looks healthy and well fed. Bai Yun has come through again to give this world a wonderful amazing gift. If only she knew how famous she is, she’s a true celebrity
Hugs and kisses to Mom and baby xxx
Heather~If she new how muh we love her, and how precious she is to all of us they would need 28 more volunteers a week~since she would want her spa decorarted and istylish with all 4 mani~peidies a day-which would come to 28-4 a day for 7ays. Now we would be talking Cub`Sitting and sch–tthat could drain our wallets realy fast.
Please ignore the poor spelling~~my keyboard is new and I do not quite have the hang of it.
Congratulations to SDZ for sharing the joy of Bai’s new cub, truly amazing and heartwarming video of birth and her wonderful maternal care, and lovely to see the cub close up this morning .
One question. What are the small animals that seem to inhabit the den with Bai and are often to be seen climbing over her and scuttling round? Do they pose any danger to the cub?
Moderator’s note: There is a plexiglass barrier between the Panda Cam lens and Bai Yun, but at night, an occasional moth can be seen near the lens. Other than that, there are no little creatures sharing Bai Yun’s den.
I, too, was concened about the “little Visiters” in what looked like they were in the den climbing all over Bai, and looking to be about babyPanda size….but my third peek gave me a true view~I could tell it was closer to the camera by quite a bit~~and it appearred to be separated.I guess it could have been hitng Bai up for babysitting jobs~~but we all know that Yunior wants paws on experience so he can be a hands on papa when they allow him to go out with girlies on Friday or Saturday nights. He is a Panda who thinks ahead.
The little worm seems to be bursting with energy! Kisses for both in the den and for all staff in SDZ!!
Aleksandra
Nice Mom, thank you! Mr. Gao Gao is also nice father!
Thank you so much for posting the daily updates and the videos.
How long will it take before she won’t be “hiding” him from us all day? It’s almost like she knows there’s a camera on her and doesn’t want us to see the baby. Can’t wait to see him get bigger!
When Yun Zi was young Bai sometimes stood up straiht and stared at the camera in the top of the den…..and other times she aded a growl with it. You could tell she knew she was being watched—and she seemed to resent it occassionally. I Still have a photo (from when we could save pictres to postcards)~~I sent it to my daughter who put it in her PhotoBucket.
Does ayone know if that kind of application is still available to us?????
Moderator’s note: Not yet.
I only discovered the panda cams about 4 months ago, and watch them daily!! This will be the first time I can watch a brand new baby being brought up! I absolutely LOVE Yun Zi and miss watching him (not to mention the proud papa, Gao Gao). But … not having seen much of Bai Yun before this, I am so moved and inspired, just watching her dedication to this new little cub of hers. She’s awesome. So thrilled to have the cams and the blog updates to enjoy!!! THANKS SO MUCH!
Lindy, is it quite exciting to watch a cub from birth. Yun Zi was my first cub from birth and I remember feeling exactly like you do. Enjoy it. You’ll learn so much and see many cub milestones!
Yep, nothing wrong with THOSE lungs!!!
Once again, Bai is proving what a truly magnificent Mommy she is. Thanks so much to everyone on Team Panda for the updates!!!
There used to be a “family tree” of the SD cubs listing their birthdates, father, female/male cub, etc. Where is that now located or is it gone totally now? Thanks to anyone can provide an answer.
Moderator’s note: There’s a link from Panda Cam to our Meet the Pandas page:
Helen, you can find their family trees on pandasliveon (dot) com/giantpandas/san-diego-panda-family-co.html
Danielle, thanks for the info! I appreciate it.
Thank you so much for the video as I am unable to watch the new camera.
You may have to make a serious choice~Panda News or People news. I happn to choose panda news over people mews for a good reasosn~and I bet everybody else does it for the same reason.I have not heard of Mr. Gao is leaving his lady love just because another Lady Pandas moved to L. A. just because he could. In fact I have never heard of ay other Pandas having his furry, fluffy (sexy) feeries. I am still hoping for Yun Zi to get them, but It would make the girlies start makimg a greater ice cake. I don’t think those feetsies are right for girlies…Love Grammmie
Finally got to see the cub, and the round belly. So adorable, thank you so much for the video. Mama Bai is so gentle. She is the best!
Am waiting for a comment from Big Brother, Yunnie. He always has a lot to say!
SDZ team
This is amazing never seen the other cubs just tuned in to SDZ around the time in march when the condor chick was hatching been watching all animals on the cams I am excited now to follow the pandas and learn about them more, thanks and keep up the good work SDZ teams
Suzanne, thanks for the report to keep us pandamaniacs informed. And also for the video, so beautiful. The cub is, indeed, very vocal and seems to already sense that calling very loudly for mummy will do the trick. Good that baby has got a round tummy! All the best for Bai and baby!
If you missed Bai Yun leaving her cub for the second time on July 31 at 2pm, DoxieMom posted it on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eITeSbYa4y8
Many thanks to DoxieMom for all her videos!
Have been so impressed with all the informative blogs and updates from SDZ. So glad that all appears to be going so well thus far for Bai Yun & cubbie. Loved seeing little cubbie about 01.30 Pacific Time, when Bai left the den again. He/she was so active & really wanting his Mum.Thanks to all for these updates.
Bai Yun is such a fantastic mom. So glad to see and hear that so far everything seems to be going well. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and lots of prayers for this little (teeny tiny) giant panda baby and it’s great mom, Bai! Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you Bai Yun for letting us see the baby! That was very good of you and we love it too. Rest sweetheart and give yur baby all our love. What a cutie!
I didn’t know Yun Zi was getting his birthday cake today! Or was that old footage on the local news of last year?
Happy Birthday Yun Zi!!!
Also the video of the new baby shows a really loud, full of energy baby when Bai Yun left the den. What a wiggle worm which may mean another wild panda baby will tear up the exhibits in the future!!
Moderator’s note: That was live viewing of Yun Zi with his ice cake. He’ll get another one on Sunday. Be sure to check the Panda Cam page for these notices so you don’t miss any of the fun!
The world, once again, is made more beautiful. Bai is such a mom. I watched her for hours last night. Devoted, humble, and protective. In her own quiet way preserving a species for generations to come. Bai- it is all about the “Yay!” today!
I’m so thrilled for Bai Yun and the staff at the SDZ. What a joyous celebration! I look forward to watching this little one grow.
I noticed the zoo app no longer has the web cam features and I really enjoyed watching the polar bears and the pandas. Will that be coming back?
Moderator’s note: The web cam features are there. You can find them under the “Media” section. Let us know if you still can’t view the cams from the Zoo’s app.
I’m glad that someone pointed this out. There USED to be a media tab, but now it is gone, Moderator. I can’t find it anywhere. If you click on the animal now, like the panda, it has a link to pandacam, but it comes up and says the website can’t be found. The media tab seems to have been taken over by the Ustream/Uwatch tab??? I have always been able to get to the pandacam on the zoo app, but lately I cannot either.
Web Team responds: Just scroll to the right; the media tab shifted one position over when we added the Ustream section.
Oh boy, do I feel stupid…..sorry
Yep, it is right there if you scroll to the right. Thank you so much web team. I will pass that info along to others also looking. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Moderator’s note: We’re just glad you’re using our Zoo app
You can keep tabs on cubbie at any time.
Thanks for the explanation about the little creatures! Yep, could easily have been a beetle on thelens or something.
I can’t believe how gentle Bai is – beautiful to see her cradling her babe.
she is such a great and amazing mommy!
For anyone interested in keeping score, here is Bai Yun’s record:
1. 08/21/99, Hua Mei, female.
2. 08/19/03, Mei Sheng, male.
3. 08/02/05, Su Lin, female
4. 08/03/07, Zhen Zhen, female
5. 08/05/09, Yun Zhi, male
6. 07/29/12, ?
Many will remember the sensationalism that attended the birth of Hua Mei in 1999 because she was the first surviving cub ever to be born in the US. Now, Bai Yun comes very close to being the oldest female on record to produce a cub. That is quite an achievement for, according to the International Studbook, 353 births had occurred by the end of 2011.
I seem to remember someone, but do not recall who it was that suggested the new cub be called Dream of Cloud. In Chinese, it would be Meng Yun, a very poetic name (on par with Yun Zi) that is appropriate for either male or female gender. “Meng” is pronounced like “mung” (rhymes with “hung”).
As for Wind and Rain (in Chinese, Feng Yu), the term can have negative connotations in certain contexts, such as the bringing up of troubles or sorrows. Thus Meng Yun would be a better name.
So perhaps Meng Yun may be added to the list for future voting? Any ideas, folks?
This cub was born on Global Tiger Day. Tigers are another highly endangered species that historically inhabited the panda ranges of China. What is the Chinese name for “little tiger”?
little tiger = Xiao Hu
That’s poetic…how about name honoring papa Gao
Gao does not lend itself to forming a good female name. But Gao Ming is a nice male name. It means smart, clever, wise, brilliant (e.g., as in “that’s a brilliant guy” ).
I agree. What a beautiful name foreither a male or female cub. Thanks for suggesting it.
The media section has been removed from the app and in its place is “Panda Watch”.
Moderator’s note: The “media” section has NOT been removed but just scooted over when the the “UStream Panda Watch” tab was added. You just need to scroll to the right just a bit to find it. Hope this helps!
The panda den cam is really great, thanks a lot! Is there any chance to show the current date and time too? There are so many pics of Bai Yun and her new baby around the internet, a time stamp could help to identify when the pics were taken.
Wait! Wait! Wait! I have been away sooo long, I didn’t even realize
Bai was preggers! What a bad auntie I am! Is it true? Has she given
birth again? My head is spinning!
Oh, momma Bai, God bless you and the new little one!
Ok, I found it. Thank you
Another great addition to the panda family. When I played the video of Bai Yun getting her drink of water, my 6 month old cockateil chirped in response to the cub’s calls!
I always thought of Yun Zi as the acrobat. but Bai Yun has an interesting cradling position with a gentle face plant and then balancing with her rear legs. when Bai Yun looks to be in a deeper rest, I’m surprised the baby does not squirm around more in the camera view but the baby must be happy in its furry cocoon.
At what point will they be “out of the woods.”
100 days
Loved the video of Baibaby having a tantrum at being left. My money is on it being a female cub. I seem to remember the boys being quiet when left at this age but the girls really protesting
Fantastic to see cub number 6 looking so strong, I’ve seen all of them right from Hua Mei. It looks like this cub’s tail is shorter than other the other cub’s tails have been, about half the length. I guess you’ll be able to confirm when you are able to get a hands on exam.
I’ve seen all of the babies — starting with Hua Mei — and this never gets old. Mama Bai and Big Daddy Gao are the best of the best… so proud of our SD Zoo. Looking forward to watching our newest little one grow to be a strong and vibrant Panda — helping to ensure the survival of these magnificent creatures. Still brings a tear to my eye — they are just so amazing!
Is that the baby under her left arm or a mirage?
What a precious video! Thank you!!
Beyond Awesome!
That cub is fiesty!
Good job Bai Yun!
Thank you so much for bringing me such joy. When I saw the new baby I got a tear in my eye. I look forward to watching this little one grow up like I have been since Hua Mei. All of you do a wonderful job. It has been a dream of mine to be able to come to San Diego to see them in person, but thanks to you I can see them everyday.
What a great mom Bai Yun is. I’ve watched everyone of her cubs grow up as a lot of you have and she is the best mom. She’s a treasure to the survival of her species. Good job!
I have been a big fan of the polar bear plunge for a few years I just want to say thank you for giving us the pleasure of watching these wonderful bears up close !!! SDZ is
# 1 because we would not be able to see into the world of pandas and polar bears with out you Thank you I will be there in Setember and I will be sure and pay a visit to the panda bears PS hopefully Chinook will give us little bear paws to watch.
One last thing watching mama panda Bai Yen brought tears to my eyes the love and care she showed to that tiny little bear blew me away THank you so musch Barbara from Phoenix
How exciting to have a new baby. I am so proud of Super Mom, Bai Yun. She is such a good mama. I hope the baby grows up to be as great as Bai Yun. Can’t wait to find out if it is girl or boy. Yeah, a new baby to watch. How fun is that? Thanks, San Diego Zoo, you guys are great. What a treat for us to get to see them grow.
loved this video! how wonderful to get a glimpse of another panda brought into this world. additionally, the cub was born on my birthday; and as a crazed panda fan, this excites me to no end!
Moderator’s note: This cub has lots of birthday buddies. Congratulations, sara!
Ohh I LOVE LOVE the video, thank you so much for sharing such sweetness!
Since the official naming is some time in the future, my suggestion for now is to call the baby “He-She”. To me “He-She” even sounds Chinese. Whatever it is, “It” is a wonderful addition to SD Zoo. Congratulations!
Will there be another contest to pick the name for the newest panda addition?
Moderator’s note: You’ll have to stay tuned. One step at a time
Congratulations to all. What a wonderful record to be proud of!
I am one of your supporters…of 90 years. I enjoy all of your E-mail information
on what’s happening at the Zoo. I’m not very good on computers, but I can always
bring up your great stories and pictures of “What’s happening at the Zoo.”
Thanks for the entertainment! Lynette De St Croix
Moderator’s note: You are so very welcome, Lynette!
I just found the panda cam,I enjoy watching momma and cub.I was at the sdz in aug or sept of 1999 and waited in line to see the first panda cub born in almost 10 years,HUA MEI.It was so special to see momma and baby.It is amazing to know this momma is the same one now..Is there video of this cubs actual birth,I could see? It is amazing to see how big she is and how gentle she is with that tiny cub.I just saw mom raise her arms and saw the cub moving in the crease of moms arms,so sweet.thanks so much for the video cam, dawn in northern calif.
