Zoo InternQuest is a career exploration program for high school students. For more information see the Zoo InternQuest blogs. For more photos see the Zoo InternQuest Photo Journal.

Hey! My name is Teghan, and I am currently a senior in high school. I am a typical teenage San Diegan. I go to the beach all the time, I love to surf, snowboard, go on hikes, play soccer, and go to the San Diego Zoo. Animals are very interesting to me. They play such a big role in everyone’s life, and I enjoy constantly learning new things about them.  I realized how amazing animals are at a very young age, and  I immediately knew I wanted to become a veterinarian.

I discovered a great internship called the Zoo InternQuest Program in the San Diego Zoo’s ZOONOOZ, and I was so excited to find such a great program that allows students to explore the careers within the Zoo. So, I applied for this internship and got it! I am so excited to have this once-in-a-lifetime experience, because it will be a great way to learn about how people are helping to conserve the ones close to extinction through their careers.

Conservation is one thing I am very passionate about, and the San Diego Zoo is one of the major organizations making a difference. Being a part of this program will help guide me in how I can make a difference in the world. I hope that my passion for conservation will inspire you to take action and make a difference in the world.
